This was Brandon's best film.....

This was Brandon's best film. Later in 1963 he did a great job in 'Hud'.... I never did like 'Shane' too much. It is a pity he died so young.

Goodbye, My Lady was his best film, in my opinion. Check that one out. A friend transferred it for me from laserdisc to DVD-R and it looks stupendous and has a great cast. Walter Brennan, Phil Harris, Sidney Portier and Brandon, and the cutest basenjii dog you've ever seen (or heard) in your life!

Thank you for the recommendation,overseer-3. I haven't seen that movie but have watched Brandon in "Shane," "Hud" and now, "Blue Denim."

I discovered Brandon this year and am now an avid fan. Wonderful young actor.

I think the movie he did with Warren Beatty "All Fall Down" was better than this one.He looked too young to be her boyfriend in a way.He looked closer to 12 than 16 and he acted babyish.I could have bought the best friend friend getting the girl in trouble easier than him!

He was 16 or 17 when they made Blue Denim so he would be just the right age. Baby-faced guys fool around with girls too!

I have never seen "Blue Denim" or "Goodbye my Lady". I don't believe they are available on DVD?? I loved Brandon de Wilde in "Hud". Was he very good in "Those Calloways"?

reply

Those Calloways was one of Disney's better family films. Brian Keith, Vera Miles and Brandon De Wilde were all good in it.

Blue Denim is on DVD now. I just saw it. I hope Goodbye My Lady is too, since he passed away, I am curious about Sidney's lesser known films.
