Wow ! Men sure taking a beating

I think "The Best of Everything" was pretty good, but not great. It certainly is quite the soap opera. Every male character, except Stephen Boyd and the Doctor, are total jerks who treat women very badly and are downright despicable. I certainly hope males have evolved from these type of portrayals. Ladies, we've come along way, baby. God help us if we haven't.

I'm reading the novel and most of them men are wolves or emotionally-vacant. And the women say things like "You know I can't live without you!"

"In my case, self-absorption is completely justified."

So do the women. What's sad is that those people exist. But there are more role models now, so young people have a better chance of making good decisions.

Indeed, it was a social commentary on gender relations of the era.
