Japanese With an M-79 Grenade Launcher?
It also appears the Japanese are using a forerunner of the M-79 Grenade Launcher, the T148 Grenade Launcher. The Japanese Sergeant uses something that looks like the M-79 to fire a flare, it looks like the M-79 but the M-79 was introduced in 1961 while the movie was released in 1959. What that soldier used for that flare does not look like a flare pistol.
