So I haven't seen this yet, but got a great deal on the Criterion blu so blind bought it. The run-time says 160 minutes, which seems very long being that this seems to be a court room drama. I enjoy long films, but my question is, does this film drag on and on, or does it seem to be perfectly paced? It's the same run-time as Bridge on the River Kwai, and that actually has a sense of high tension and action. Thanks for any input..

shareThat means it's no longer covered by copyright. However, it's not actually accurate in the case of this movie. According to an article by Duke University, "Anatomy of a Murder" did not fall into public domain due to some copyright extension legislation passed in 1978.
If this actually was in the public domain, then there would be a whole lot of lousy DVD releases available from no-name companies, like you see with a lot of cheap film noir movies from the 1940s and 1950s that had their copyright lapse.
It's perfectly paced.
