This was ripped off
I looked into it and the Spider-Man villain Curt Connors/The Lizard is a ripped off from this movie. The Lizard first appeared in a comic November 1963. This movie was released July 1959. In The Alligator People, a scientist experiments with reptilian hormones that are capable of regenerating limbs. In The Alligator People, Richard Crane's character Paul is ultimately turned into an alligator man. Curt Connors experiments with reptilian hormones that are capable of regenerating limbs. It turns him into a lizard man. I hope when they wrote the Amazing Spider-Man comics and created The Lizard, the writers of The Alligator People; Robert M. Fresco, Orville H. Hampton, Charles O'Neal were given credit. It was their idea. Curt Connors/The Lizard is a rip-off from this movie.
If there was a Spider-Man villain that was a man transformed into a fly in the same way as in the story The Fly, I would think that they would give the writer of The Fly, George Langelaan, credit. There has never been such a Spider-Man villain. There was a villain known as The Human Fly, but the character has nothing to do with Langelaan's The Fly. The Human Fly was like Spider-Man, only a fly was used to make him.
