Movie Released in Anamorphic Widescreen (1.85:1)

"4D Man" has been released in widescreen, but it is in PAL/Region 2 format. It comes from Italy, but the language is in English, Italian, and with Italian subtitles. As of this writing, it's on eBay.

Why couldn't they include the original film trailer (as seen on YouTube), and a behind-the-scenes view on the special optical effects?

I find it strange that a foreign release got the widescreen treatment, yet the Image Entertainment DVD here in the u.s. was full frame. what gives?
