The Twilight Zone Speaks Out Against Fascism

Which MC poster does this remind you of? "we are the minorities"

Ep 4.04 He's Alive: youtube.com/watch?v=05LaTuuKPlI

reply

TZ spoke out against fascism many times. Most of the contemporary "left" would have been the 'monsters' in Rod Serling's eyes:

The Obsolete Man (predicting the modern left's psychotic addiction to censorship and "canceling" people deemed 'irrelevant')

It's a Good Life (Anthony is the prototype for the SJW -- "I don't like anybody who doesn't like me!" His version of "cancel culture"? 'I'm wishing you to the cornfield!')

Eye of the Beholder (A complete and total takedown of the kind of conformist, dystopian society the modern left wants to build, where the most interesting people are deemed 'ugly' by the hideous, conformist zeitgeist)

etc.
etc.
etc....

reply

Which party is it again that is banning books? Oh yeah, that’s the Right. Irrelevant people aren’t cancelled, people have always been ‘cancelled’ by society for being unkind, that will likely never change. Hopefully censorship of ideas will stop being censored in the future though.

I don’t know what you think the Left has to do with conformity since most artists are Liberals and artists hate conformity.

reply

Which left wing artists are doing ANYTHING original or creative today? Your problem is you think it's still 1965. It's not.

The "left" won the culture war a long time ago. There might be, oh, I don't know, three actual "White supremacists" left in the country. Nobody has any desire to hold anybody back just because they're 'different' in a superficial way. That the left continues to harp on "racism" only reiterates the left's own obsession with immutable characteristics. And yet, "liberal" artists crank out this soulless shit in entertainment about "tolerance" that nobody other than the left needs to hear.

Who was the greatest filmmaker Hollywood produced over the last half century? David Lynch. Was he a liberal? Before you answer, go back and take an honest look at his movies. The man YEARNED for a return to the idealistic version of the 1950s. It shines through in everything he did. Blue Velvet--'Oh, look at what these nasty degenerates have done to small town America!' Same message in Twin Peaks. Lost Highway is about the violation of a marriage by infidelity. Mulholland Dr. is about the degradation of 'innocent' women from Middle America (or Canada, in the case of the movie) by Hollywood degenerates. For further discussion, read the book Pervert in the Pulpit. This is nothing new. The greatest filmmaker of the last 50 years was... Radically Conservative (he refused to admit it for professional reasons).

As for the books being "banned" -- Do you mean pornographic sex guides in elementary school libraries? I mean, yeah, it is banning books. But if you think those sorts of books should be in elementary schools, maybe YOU have more serious issue you should address?

I know you can't resist responding, but the mature thing to do would be to re-evaluate everything you believe and wake up. Since I can't count on you to do that, I'll allow you whatever ad hominem attacks you're going to respond with and then I'll consider this correspondence concluded.

reply

You’ll ALLOW me to respond? Wow.

reply

Which party is it again that is banning books?

Neither. Removing age-inappropriate materials from elementary school libraries is not a ban. The books are still out there for everyone else's consumption. If they're your thing, knock yourself out; no one's stopping you from buying them. But some of these books don't belong in a school library anymore than video copies of "Debbie Does Dallas." Stop lying.

And please, the left is all about ideological conformity today. They demand it. Those who don't adopt the mandatory set of beliefs that all moral people must share get cancelled. Don't believe biological males belong in women's sports or women's prisons? Cancelled! Don't think we should deport illegal aliens? Cancelled! Want "drag queen story hour" kept out of your third-grader's school? Cancelled! Did you vote for Trump? Cancelled!

And spare me the nonsense about "artists" hating conformity. The entertainment industry is worse than any of them. That's why Disney fired Gina Carano for wrongthink. It's why actor Eric McCormack tweeted (about people in Hollywood attending a Trump fundraiser) "Hey, @THR, kindly report on everyone attending this event, so the rest of us can be clear about who we don’t wanna work with. Thx." It's why James Woods' agent dropped him when he began posting conservative comments on Twitter -- and there's no denying it was because of politics, because the agent wrote ""It's the 4th of July and I'm feeling patriotic. I don't want to represent you anymore..." It's why Bryan "Breaking Bad" Cranston publicly announced he ended a decades-long friendship because the friend voted for Trump. It's why tons of actors -- Stacey Dash, Antonio Sabato Jr., Morgan Brittany, et al. stopped getting work after they came out as conservatives.

So don't even try to tell me that "progressives" in entertainment don't cancel people.

reply

The Right, Republicans, conservatives, or whatever you want to call them are not banning books. They are saying that books depicting sexual acts in text and illustrations are not appropriate for children in public school libraries and classrooms. All of those books are still available from book stores and Amazon. Nothing has been banned. If you want to provide your children with books that have descriptions and pictures of boys giving each other blow jobs, knock yourself out. Nobody is going to stop you from buying them.

If you don't see the obsession of the Left with conformity, you are absurdly naive.

reply

Founding Fathers warned about dangerous behavior that Trumpites are doing now.

Jan 6 smashing windows and doors to the Capitol Building, threatening elected officials and stopping the peaceful transfer of power = MOB RULE

Trump as dictator on day 1 = TYRANNY

White Christian Nationalism = NO RELIGIOUS FREEDOM

Banning books and freedom of speech = NO FREEDOM OF SPEECH; NO FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION

Trump attack on newspapers = NO FREEDOM OF THE PRESS

Trump attack on check and balances = TYRANNY

Trump ignoring Constitution and judges decisions = TYRANNY

Trump concentration of power = DICTATORSHIP

Loyalty tests to Trump = TYRANNY

You are the tyranny and dictatorship that the Founding Fathers feared.

reply

Who said anything about Trump?

Idiot.

reply

That's an entertaining list of leftist lies. You could get a job at NPR.

reply

Interesting that you find mob rule and tyranny entertaining. I'll assume you hate America.

reply

Both responses, by the way, have proven my point.

reply

Perfectly put.

Rod Serling was a Jew of the WWII generation. He was obsessed with Nazis. Even generic dictators were portrayed as having characteristics specific to Hitler.

reply

Dictators have similar characteristics including Hitler.
