Your First ever episode?
Which episode was it?
I first saw a re-run of 'The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street' as a kid back in the 80's.

"The Man In the Bottle." The "morphing" scene near the end scared the hell out of me to such a degree that I refused to watch another episode for years thereafter.
shareNot sure- but "Third From the Sun" is probably the first one I remember seeing.
Now, here's a question- -how do you think the two families were treated when they came to earth? The same way as "People are Alike all Over" ?
I have to say my first was the time element. It was on a random DVD of episodes my uncle had. I was hooked. I bought the whole series after that.
shareI like the fact that your first episode was “The Time Element” Stranger. A few years ago when I was trying to decide whether to purchase the series on blu-ray or dvd, the fact that it’s included as an extra on the Season 1 blu-ray set is part of the reason I ultimately chose to buy the blu-rays. “The Time Element” for my own nickel is some of the very best television programming I’ve ever seen – regardless of decade.
shareI've heard it was a special feature on the blueray. I wonder why they didn't add it for the regular boxset. I think it was a great episode and wish I had it.
shareHunt on youtube, Stranger, and you'll find it. ('ve not yet mastered the fine art of posting clickable links on here else I'd post it.) However, if you'll simply do a Google search for the terms rod serling the time element (just like that) one of the options what comes up should be the full program - approximate runtime just a hair under 55 minutes. The watchdogs being what they are it may not be there for long. (The quality is quite good considering that the file has been "ultra-compressed" for streaming.)
There’s one other version actually that some kind soul posted on MySpace (nope, I’m not kidding at all.) That particular version is especially interesting if only because it pinpoints when “The Time Element” was last broadcast on television – on Nick-at-Nite about 21 years back when it served as a “teaser” for a brand new cable channel called TvLand! MySpace being what it is though these days, that version doesn’t stream very well at all.
As for why it wasn't included in the plain vanilla "definitive collection" only Lamont Cranston may have the answer to that question.
Wow, you are in luck! There is a new copy of Time Element up on YouTube. I have never seen such a sharp looking copy before:

Thanks guys. I appreciate the link.
shareMy first one was the same, The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street. We did the play in 7th grade and one of my friends phoned me at like 11pm(a BIG DEAL in those days) to tell me it was on TV. I loved it immediately. I really liked that genre when I was a kid. I still like it but it's so hard to find good horror, suspense, thrillers, mysteries that are well done. I think TV is doing a much better job these days with this type of story telling than movies. Twilight Zone is the best!
share"the incredible world of horace ford". i can't recall if i had seen previous episodes of the season but that episode was what got me hooked and made me buy the dvd boxes and discover twilight zone radio. my first twilight zone experience was the 1983 movie, but the 1959 series was what blew me away, i gave it a shot thinking i wouldn't like it as much as the 1980's twilight zone series... haven't seen the 80's series since. the 80's series and season 4 of the original was what aired on a short lived science fiction channel in my country. was "time element" the episode that were suppose to be a part of the twilight zone series but ended up in a previous series or something.. anyway, the episode with that story behind it is being treated as a "regular" twilight zone episode in the "twilight zone radio dramas" series. i understand another episode people have missed out on is "the encounter" since it was pulled from airing.

lets revive another barren planet with your magic.
Yes, "The Encounter" was not part of the regular syndication package because people felt uncomfortable with the theme. I'd been watching the Twilight Zone for years before I even heard about it. I only saw it on DVD. I think it is really interesting that in your country they only aired the 4th season episodes. It seems we only get to see the 4th season episodes during marathons because unless a station has slotted back-to-back episodes of the regular 30 minute series, there wouldn't be space for the hour long episodes. It's rather awkward.
share"Jess-Belle". I was babysitting for my neighbors on New Year's Eve and watched a TZ marathon on WGN.
