Finally, a Good Western Series
I discovered this series on the Western channel. Its pretty decent, good writing, interesting subject matter.
Its a welcome change from the mindless 'Death Valley Days' and other similar stuff.
The writing, directing, acting, and cinematography in "Laramie" are several notches above typical late-1950s to 1960s tv westerns. "The Rifleman" does a great job managing stories within its half-hour format, and has the great chemistry between Chuck Connors and Johnny Crawford. "Gunsmoke" is often good, and "Bonanza" has its moments. The rest were, for the most part, just primetime filler.
