I've never seen anybody drink brandy from a snifter that big.
In fact, my own snifters are MUCH smaller.
Is the quality and taste of brandy improved by that huge size?
Personally, if I had a snifter that big, I'd use it to make a terrarium.
I love how the music swells when they sip from the brandy snifters. Then suddenly they're just talking again like normal.
shareThe whole point is that the music and the acting is building up the audience to the big climactic kiss, and it doesn't happen. Emile and Nellie aren't quite there yet in their relationship. It's a great device to keep the audience interested in this couple and when they're going to kiss. It works even better on stage because this comes right at the beginning of the show rather than over 30 minutes in.

Those are real brandy snifters. Not the little dinky things you get at Macy's.
I intend to live forever. So far so good.
I used to be a bartender and snifters can come in any size. The larger ones have a greater area for the aroma to collect and you sniff as you drink. The one thing I noticed was how dirty they were in the movie.
shareWell, really...considering Mitzi was scarfing down some of the left over champagne in the glasses, hygiene definitely didn't seem to be a high priority on anybody's list.
shareI wouldn't expect brandy snifters any other way. It's pretty funny though that the music swells dramatically as they drink it down simultaneously.
