So bad it's good.

Not really. It's still bad. But kind of fun to watch and laugh at.

I totally agree with the original poster. The movie is bad in the same way as "The Giant Gila Monster" and "Phantom from 10,000 Leagues." But, it's not really any worse than many other B-movie horror films, and its about what you would expect. The biggest problem with the acting was the delivery, for instance the actor that played Eric seemed to just mutter out his lines in a monotone and he had terrible elocution. However, the music was fantastic for such a terrible film.

Ernest Gold's music score was quite good. He also wrote the music score for the Paul Newman film Exodus(1960).

Ernest Gold,
Was an Emmy Award winner for his music scores. A very talented man. Thank goodness, he used those talents for the music scores of The Screaming Skull!!
The music played a very intergral part in this film. Just as the Halloween music made the film, "Halloween", so did the music score by Ernest Gold for, "The Screaming Skull"!!!
