Kind of surprised this has such a low rating on here. It's reasonably well-done on a low budget, has some creepy moments and the cast is competent.

I did too, actually; rewatching the MST3K treatment of it and, though the riffs are great in this ep, the movie itself is in fact pretty decent. It's a decent standalone film in the tradition of 'Rebecca,' see quite a bit of sinchronicity between the two. Perhaps folks get on the this-is-awful bandwagon once they first see it on MST3K... Unfortunate. I do think it's actually quite good given what was surely a limited budget. Maybe viewers misinterpret 'stylized' drama for 'bad acting,' or something. Their loss.

Granted, most of those movies sucked, but this one was pretty good.
You have to be a fan of the old school horror genre to like it, but I am and have watched a ton of them.
This is a ranked way higher than a 3, range for me.
While it may lack star power, it is a great little film.
One of the movies that stays with you for a bit.
