Folks have been comparing the monster in this movie to the Creature From The Black Lagoon. To me it is a dead ringer to the one in It! The Terror From Beyond Space. It might even be the same one.

I agree, at least the body part is identical. If there is a difference it might be the head (or at least the mouth), which seems to have more teeth then the one in "It".

Very good observation. From what I remember reading in Famous Monsters of Filmland (old magazine) it was the same costume minus the head.

When the monster starts acting like a monkey and climbs up the lighthouse side i couldnt help but think king kong king kong. his suit wasnt that different either.

It doesn't look anything like the creature in It! TFBS. It! was much more bulkier, and the suit was a mess. MOPB was more sleaker and leaner, it didn't sag like the It! costume. Looks like they spent more money on the suit for MoPB, but used the claws, from The Mole People.
