John Harmon gave an excellent performance as the crazed lighthouse keeper. The beach locale, some night scenes, and black and white photography greatly enhanced this movie, IMHO! Very good monster suit! 7 out of 10(I'm very lenient towards classic horror/sci-fi).
shareI agree that his performance was pretty top notch. When he was explaining to his daughter about his encounter, feeding the creature etc. he seemed very natural. The "crusty old man routine" was also realistic. Even when he was talking to his dog about how he would have paid for the meat scraps, it sounded like something my grandfather might have said to his dog. Very un-forced natural acting.
shareIt was quite good. The rest of the cast was a mixed bag, but the cinematography was absolute killer. These films must be judged in the context of their era rather than by today's standards, and as such I also gave this 7/10.
