The monster kills a little girl but...
Spares the adult woman, all of a sudden the monster carries the white woman instead of killing her on sight like he did everyone else before her, I blame the producers for having a inconsistent monster.

shareFor some dumb reason, these 50s movies ALWAYS required, a monster carrying heroine scene. It is pretty dumb, that the monster is totally vicious, until the main female is onscreen.
At least, in Creature From The Black Lagoon it was established, that the Gillman was intrigued by Kay. He was curious about her, when she went swimming.
I think they attempted to establish the same thing, in a kinda, sorta way - not nearly so obvious as it was in CFTBL ...
Remember when Lucy came back from her late night solo skinny dip and began getting dressed? The monster was VERY close by watching her - you could hear his breathing. I think perhaps they were hinting that the beast was curious/intrigued by her. Still, it was so violent and bloodthirsty toward everyone else, that almost seemed out of character. Maybe it just felt the urge to mate, and she was the hottest prospective candidate?
