BRD-release

Just a quick warning to whomever plans to buy the "Universum Film" blu ray of this excellent film.

I bought and watched it yesterday and the quality was appalling. From what I understand this BRD is marketed as a "remastered"-version but it looks nothing like that. Comparing it to the excellent "Goldfinger"-BRD for example, it's no contest.

Picture is grainy, dirty and fuzzy, "lighting/contrast" is way off in a lot of scenes and the audio sounds like it was recorded inside a tin-can.

While I love the actual film, I cannot recommend this BRD-version of it. Probably best to wait for someone more competent to do an actual restoration.

Maybe you should check out the extras on the Dr No Blu Ray and see how much effort they put into that remaster and ask if the owners of this film would have access to that kind of money and equipment.
