Worst Blu Ray transfer
This is a great movie. I love Hammer horror films and Christopher Lee is fantastic, as is Peter Cushing.
That being said this is the WORST Blu Ray transfer I have ever seen in my life. Every scene is darker and has a weird blue filtered look to it. Why? Why do this to the colors? The color quality should not have been better in 1958 / 1959 than it is today!
I recommend buying the American Warner DVD for picture quality to make a comparison. This Blu Ray might have newly restored lost scenes but there's no excuse for what they have done to the picture quality.
Why do people keep doing this to Dracula movies.
First Bram stoker's Dracula's Blu Ray is from a copy of a copy of the original print so now it's darker and grainer (The older grey box DVD actually has better picture quality).
Then the DVD of Frank Langella's 1979 Dracula has the colors washed out so it's nearly black and white when it wasn't originally filmed that way, making the picture distorted, pale, and grainy for most of the movie.
The picture quality should not be better on the older formats yet in the case of Dracula movies this tends to be the case. Why?
