A product of its time.
I think the best films evolve and stay relevant with the times. They are imbued with a quality that makes them immune from the passage of time. Hammer Horror films do not fit that description. Yes, it's easy to see why people still enjoy them, but to a modern audience, it has lost its original horror prowess.
