In the Tennessee Williams plays, Brick and Skipper had homosexual feelings for each other...maybe. Skipper was so guilty over this, he committed suicide. Because of the Production Code and the morals of the time, it was changed in the film to Brick rejecting Maggie because he thought she had been with Skipper. Like the original Lillian Hellman film "The Children's Hour." She wrote is as Martha having lesbian feelings for Karen. When it was filmed in the 30's, it was changed to "These Three" and had one woman in love with the other fiancee. All gay mentions were taken out. When it was filmed in 1959 with Shirley Mclaine and Audrey Hepburn, it was back to one woman loving the other.
