BRICK'S HOLLOW LEG
Throughout the movie, Brick downs one drink after another, yet HE NEVER GETS DRUNK!
Anyone else would be besotted into oblivion, but throughout, Brick is able to carry on conversations (with NO slurred words), and act in ways that showed he knew what he was doing.
It's neither the fault of Paul Newman or director Richard Brooks; Tennessee Williams (one of this country's greatest playwrights) should have added a "sleeping off" scene so that Brick could sober up and face both Big Daddy and his own demons.
