I have recently purchased the soundtrack which was released on the TCM label (Turner Classic Movies.)
The entire soundtrack is presented here as well as a few additional Russian Gypsy songs. I recommend this CD very highly.
Yul Brynner does sing one short song at the finale of the CD. It's a nameless Gypsy song. I do not like Brynner's singing style or interpretation of this song. He mumbles the words and mostly moans the notes of the song. I greatly admire Brynner's talents as an actor but I find his singing awful. He tends to sing in a very short range, almost tone deaf. I purchased a recording that he made in the 1960s on the Vanguard label. It was called "The Gypsy and I" and was Brynner's tribute to the Gypsies with whom he worked in Paris during the thirties. The songs are interesting and Yul could strum a guitar skilfully but his singing was disappointing.
The song "Two Guitars" is an instrumental number on this CD. It features a virtuoso violin performance which is breathtaking. One of my favourite tracks on this CD.
I hope this helps answer your questions.
Yours Cordiually,
Douglas Ogle
