How good is the DVD of this film ?

I can't find a good review for the dvd with picture like on dvdbeaver.

Colors in the 50's were so beautiful that I prefer waiting for a perfect edition that something "better than nothing".

thanks

The picture quality is up to par with other films on DVD..crystal clear with vivid color...and Novak's colorful outfits surely POP on the screen..

I'm not sure if there will be another DVD release, it's hard to tell and while I hate to say it; this movie is probably far on the list for Special Edition's so in the meantime the DVD release right now will defintely work!

I had the VHS for years before the DVD came out and the latter is very good. Color is beautiful, there's a full screen and wide screen version therein, advertising feature and trailer. Would be nice if there was an interview with Kim Novak, but alas.

Enjoy!

I just watched this last night and it has excellent picture quality, I must admit that the sound effects (in particular the cat) were laughable, you would have thought with this budget they could have recorded a real cat. I had two (cats) in the room that were not convinced.

Thank you guys !

Siamese cats can sound quite different than what we (and your cats) usually hear.

The quality of the dvd is quite good. Show's James Wong Howe's photography to very good effect.
