I've seen Vertigo and Picnic, but in Bell Book and Candle Kim Novak is (literally) spellbinding.

I've never seen her command the screen in quite this way. She was masterful.
She's very compelling in this movie. Perfectly cast. However I like her in Vertigo the best. Especially the first half.
Ms Novak really is spellbinding, and never more beautiful than in BB&C. Her acting range, however, seemed limited. She was most enchanting when passive, thoughtful, letting the other characters do the acting. The only scene in BB&C that did not ring true was the one in which she was angry.
