Cary Grant as Shep?
Just saw this on "Trivia" board. Would have made for a more suave Shep, I guess, which may or may not have been preferable.

shareKim Novak considers James Stewart her favorite leading man and that says a lot considering Kim Novak worked with Rock Hudson, William Holden, Frank Sinatra, Jack Lemmon, James Garner, Dean Martin, Charles Bronson, Tyrone Power, Frederic March etc.
I always felt a Kim Novak- Cary Grant romantic drama film would have been a natural. The only reason I guess it didn't happen is that Kim was Queen of Columbia and Cary Grant made ( and owned ) his films at Universal.
In their prime Cary Grant and Kim Novak would have been in the ultimate in romance casting.
Nothing could top Cary Grant and Irene Dunne.
shareUnless maybe it's Grant and Bergman in Notorious or Grant and Saint in North by Northwest.
shareAre you saying you don't think Grant had chemistry with them in those films?

Thank you, I didn't know about that option. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
"No, I don't like to cook, but I have a chicken in the icebox, and you're eating it."

James Stewart co starred with Kim Novak in Vertigo, not Grant. Grant and Novak never worked together on a film. However their paths crossed in real life at the 1959 Cannes Film Festivals. There are some pictures of them dancing together at one of the parties. They looked like they were clicking that night.
shareReread the posting. I don't think anyone said that Grant starred with Novak in Vertigo. I think some folks were talking about hypothetical pairings that would have been good.
