I think if the story was modified a bit and modernized it could actually be a decent remake.

I've thought so too. I think there's a way to update it (not have such a treacle-ish ending) because I think the play hints that the spell De Passe put on Gillian also did something to her powers.

shareYou've made me remember that awful Bewitched movie. This story seems very well suited to the 1950s, but I don't know how it could be tweaked to fit modern sensibilities.
