While searching Amazon for a season one box set, I ran across this...

I pre-ordered....

$21.99 for the complete series is a great deal. I already have the three previous releases, so I'll pass. If they would have included the episode of "Trackdown" that introduced Steve McQueen as Josh Randal, I would be tempted to get this set.

The question whether they fixed the season 1 frame-rate?

What exactly was wrong with it? I only have the new set but I'll take a look.

Given that its from Mill Creek though, a decent but rather cheap company usually specializing in public domain titles, I can't see them having made improvements.

I've only had a very click glance at it, but the quality looked OK to me; far better than usual from Mill Creek.

It's 4 percent faster because of the NTSB -> PAL conversion for French TV, which was the transfer they used for the season 1 DVD. The running time is shorter, and audio is pitched up.

Ah! I can't say I'm terribly sensitive to PAL speed-up, fortunately, because I'm in the UK.

I haven't noticed any of the smearing that can result from a bad conversion, but I've only watched a couple of episodes.

I just bought it at Wal-Mart for $5.00. The liner notes were hilarious. They called him Randolph and said he carried a sawed-off Winchester SHOTGUN.

Help stamp out and do away with redundancy
