Ed Kemmer escaped from P.O.W. camp
Interesting that Ed Kemmer who played Aben Starr was a pilot and escaped from a WWII P.O.W. camp in Germany. I wonder if he gave any tips to McQueen and Coburn that they used when they appeared in The Great Escape.
