The Land of Oz
The episode is a surprisingly good Oz film. It rewrites the novel in mostly interesting ways and does not shy away from material that requires better effects than they could possibly afford - but which work on about the same level as what we remember from Land of the Lost (No stop motion though). And there's early work from John Chambers in the makeup department so we get a good scarecrow, Jack Pumpkinhead and Gump head.
Of course the actors are a splendid lot and Shirley Temple is pretty darn good as the sex-changed Ozma/Tip (which is no spoiler here as it is not kept secret as it is in the book). Agnes Moorehead is fun as Mombi to.
And, there's even a little surprise in the music as the composer manages to steal a little bit of Over the Rainbow for one sequence - cuz I am sure they didn't negotiate for the rights.
