Wonderful to see this show again!

Sea Hunt is one of the first t.v. shows I remember watching as a kid. I might have caught an episode or two over the years since, but for the most part I haven't watched it for more than fifty years. Thanks to a recommendation from my new TiVo, I've rediscovered it, and am really enjoying the series the second time around.

The first episode I watched the other day, from 1958, involved Mike being stuck on a raft without food or water for six days, with three other people. The skinny, somewhat annoying young man with the black hair that kept falling into his face, I didn't recognize until I read the end credits; it was Leonard Nimoy. I watched an episode today wherein Mike discovers a murder weapon in the water near a dock and is almost murdered himself by the hoods who tossed it there; he is rescued by a young boy of nine or ten, played by a very young Jeff Bridges.

Some of the story lines seem a bit naive, I guess, and the pacing a lot slower than what today's t.v. viewer has come to expect - but it's still great fun, and Lloyd Bridges is an absolute rock...always giving a great performance.
