Argonaut

My mother told me I was named after the boat on the show. I believe it was the Cheryl Ann. I'm not sure about the middle name, but she said the first name was Cheryl

the show with a tugboat by that name was called "waterfront"

Mike Nelson's boat was called the "Argonaut" as I remember. Great show, really loved it as a kid, and now rediscovering it is almost better! I'm also looking for the complete set, but am not sure about the quality of the ones I see for sale so far.

Well the "main" boat in the show that belonged to mike was called the "Argonaut"

"The Argonaut is a 1960 Trojan Sea Breeze, Express Cruiser, 34 feet long and 12 feet wide. It's made of mahogany planking with teak decks and brightwork. She is currently being restored."

There are a few people who noticed that mikes boat was named the "evac" because this is written on the bow, however that is the registration letters and not the name of the boat.

I have noticed that many other boats were used regularly on the show and are in multiple episodes.

The boats with the names "Jay Dee" and "Cheryl Ann" were used in a couple of different episodes, but they were always other peoples boats and not mikes.

I have also noticed that a 35-40 foot custom craft was used in about 5 different episodes in the 2nd season but the name is always blacked out.

Anyone know anything about the midget submarine Nelson used in the "Midget Submarine" episode (1.12)? While I suppose it is just a mock-up, the design looks vaguely familiar. Does it appear in some other film or TV series, perhaps?

I think they had that little vessel at Marineland, and I think it came in handy for a lot of the logistics when shooting some scenes. Even though the viewer might have only seen the "mini-sub" on an occasional episode, I believe I heard over the years that, when shooting, the craft could be used for setting up shop, and helping search shooting areas for any debris that might be lying around, which could mess up shots. You notice you NEVER saw a coke can or an empty can
lying around during these shots. Well, there's a reason. They scouted out locations ahead of time, sometimes with the mini-sub. Least that's what I've heard anyway. Weren't the women selected in these programs cute as heck?
