Great to See Again

I've been enjoying watching Lawman again, thanks to Encore Westerns. I remember watching reruns of it as a kid on one of our local stations. I have several Westerns on tape and DVD, but had just about given up hope on being able to see Lawman episodes again. My thanks to Encore Westerns, which does a great job bringing back the classic TV Westerns.

'Lawman' is on my 'don't miss' list every weekday morning. I love watching it again on Encore Westerns. John Russell is fantastic as 'Marshall Dan Troop', and, Peter Brown is excellent as 'Deputy Johnny McKay'. Peter is also in the 'Laredo' series showing on RetroTV every weekend. Thanks to the poster in the Trivia section that Peter Brown won the TV cowboy quick draw contest. This show is tops on my list for TV westerns and memorable theme songs. I think John Russell and Peggy Castle had great chemistry, much more intense than 'Marshall Dillon' and 'Miss Kitty' on 'Gunsmoke'. John Russell is the most handsome man I've ever seen.

I fully agree that the entire cast was great in their roles. John Russell was the perfect choice for Marshal Dan Troop. Peggie Castle was a very underrated actress who deserved far better roles than she got in the movies, and this series allowed her to display an excellent signing voice as well. Peter Brown held up his end as Johnny McKay, and I also really enjoy watching verteran character actor Clancy Cooper in the role of Timmo, the bartender at the Birdcage.

Many thanks to Encore Westerns for bringing back this classic western series!!

If you're so crazy about Laredo, it comes on Encore every day right after Lawman.

I'm watching it right now on EW. I haven't seen it, except for a couple of YouTube videos, since its original run. I even had a Lawman lunch box then!
