Yawkey....Cooperative Corpse

I just finished watching the Yawkey episode of Lawman. I found it quite interesting that after being shot and supposedly killed, Yawkey (Ray Danton) was picked up by Troop and carried to the jail for the protection of his body. The whole time that Troop was carrying him, Yawkey's extemities, his arms and legs, are limp at his sides as would be expected of the recently deceased. However, Yawkey's head was perfectly erect, in a horizontal position, indicating that he would have had to have been holding his head up. Was this an oversight in filming or am I missing something here?

That was surely just an oversight. Ray Danton was probably keeping his head erect to keep it from bouncing around while he was being carried by John Russell.

I just finished reading Julie Adams' autobiography. She was married to Ray Danton for about 16 years, and then they divorced. Julie's mother was an alcoholic and came to live with them in Hollywood. When her mother continued to endanger herself by drinking, Julie describes a night where Ray spoke frankly to her mother and gave her several options as to what she needed to do to deal with her problem. He was very understanding and really tried to help his mother-in-law. Julie describes Ray as a very caring man who really was a good guy in real life.

Thanks James. Interesting story about Ray Danton. He was always in good movies and I was glad to see him in Lawman.
