Dan Troop's walk

Anyone notice how similar his walk is to that of John Wayne? I have wondered if this came about as a result of his having worked with The Duke on Rio Bravo about the same time that Lawman came out.

Either that or did John Russel's walk come from his USMC background as they do tend to do a whole lot of walking.

I thought his walk evolved throughout the series. He was pretty loose in season 1, but developed that turning of his head into the direction he was going to go before taking a step (robocop style) in season 2.

Russell is said to have based Dan's character on an officer he knew when he was in the Marines. It could be the walk came from there.
