shareYou are not the only person looking where there's two premiere on encore westerns. Thank you for starting this thread.
shareMe too. I am also lòoking for 2 other excellent WB Westerns to reappear also - Sugarfoot and Lawman.
Regarding Bronco, it airs every Saturday and Sunday morning at 6am Eastern time on the Cozi network. This is a free OTA multicast network that is pretty widely available.
Just saw BRONCO on COZI at 3 a.m. Midwestern time I've never heard of it, but I wound up watching the whole episode because it was so compelling. The Bronco dude rides into a fort with only 4 soldiers left, after being chased by Indians---the women he's bringing with him is the wife of one of the soldiers. After finding out said soldier is deceased, it turns out that another one of the soldiers,Ross, was going to be court-martialed because he stopped the dead soldier from beating his wife up, by beating down the husband, who no one liked. The soldier's widow has a letter written to her from her husband detailing things that went down at the fort that shouldn't have been going on there. Meanwhile, the captain, who's a mean dictatorial bastard, played by Simon Oakland (PSYCHO, MURDER INC.,THE SAND PEBBLES,etc.---it was interesting to see him in a period piece for once) demands that Ross get the letter back from her, since it's got incriminating evidence against them in it. Turns out that the Bronco dude is cool with the Indian tribe, so he's not on board with the soldiers being so ready to off them. Things start to really go overboard when the three start not trusting each other, which Bronco plays to his advantage near the end. A young Warren Oates plays the hothead too-quick-to-shoot member of the four. It plays out nicely with a cool twist at the end. I actually enjoyed it,too.
shareGood episode review.
There are a number of Bronco episodes like the one you described that have an interesting and detailed plot.
Hope you enjoy watching more of them.
