THE UNDEAD on Region 1 DVD?
I see THE UNDEAD is available in Europe on Region 2 DVD.
Anyone have any idea when THE UNDEAD will be available in Region 1?

That'd be a dream come true.
Maybe there's someone we can write...
I would like to know to. I have searching for a number of years and had no success. Please let me know if you or anyone should find it.
shareWe may all have to invest in those black market dvd players that play all-region dvds so we can buy whatever we want to see, regardless of region encoding, and so we can finally thumb our noses at the marketing idiots at the studios who portion out things so ridiculously. They're not that expensive, either, and my old dvd player went on the fritz recently, and I've been giving serious thought to it. Region coding is just plain stupid.
UPDATE (July 2007): Well, here it is the end of July 2007 and STILL no sign of "The Undead" on Region 1... Roger Corman, whatever you're doing, stop. Right Now. No, Right NOW. Go to the phone and strike a distribution deal for "The Undead" (paired with "Not Of This Earth"), slap a $9.99 price tag on the box, make sure you cut Netflix in on the rental deal...and GET ON WITH IT!!!
By the way, I still haven't gotten a multi-region player (whether gray or black market). As reasonably priced as they have become, I'm short on funds and (a buddy kindly gave me a hand-me-down R1 player to tide me over).
Thanks, btw, to dave-333 for the multi-region info, btw.
"those black market dvd players that play all-region dvds"
Altered dvd players that play all-regions can't change the PAL signal perfectly into NTSC, so you might still get a choppy picture, or at best, an odd, slightly unsmooth picture. Legit dvd players that advertize they can play both NTSC & PAL are called "grey market" in the industry (rather than black market) because while legally sold in Europe, they can't be marketted here: the good ole USA capitalist monarchy doesn't want dvd-movies to be shared. So much for "Free enterprise." Pioneer makes and sells a true PAL/NTSC converter-player in Europe which can be bought in USA online, but the warranty is void because Pioneer can only market it in Europe, not USA.

Anyone seeking to buy a NTSC DVD-R can email [email protected]. Thanks, HR
