Powerful performance, I agree. You could really feel her pain. I couldn't believe it when she died. When Takako said she died, I actually did that thing where you reflexively put your hand over your mouth. It was a total shock. Even after she was injured I didn't think she'd actually die. That was so sad. I really wanted her to find happiness, and when she was talking about starting over I thought she would.

For me, after we heard the commotion in the street, I was surprised that she would still have more lines to speak. I thought that was it and movie over. Instead there were about four more endings, but it's okay. Just an odd movie that has lots of endings.
