soundtrack

I am astounded that this has never been released on CD. Does anyone know what the holdup is? I believe it falls into the hands at MCA (who own the Decca catalog).

Virtually every other Elmer Bernstein s/track is out there and a host of Chico Hamilton music too -- but this one.

Still waiting...

I just saw an ad on PBS for this movie and the bumper music was what sounded to be a fairly new band - maybe from the 90's? I think it's a jazzy/bluesy trio but I can't for the life of me remember the band's name. Anyone have any idea if "The Sweet Sound of Success" has had a modern re-make on the intro music, credits music, or soundtrack?

Have any idea the names of the musicians or groups and the names of the songs on the soundtrack?

I had shivers from the opening music and then I saw in the credits it was Elmer Bernstein and I knew why it was giving me shivers. The soundtrack makes this film.

Two separate original soundtrack LP releases, one featuring Bernstein's score and the other featuring Hamilton's recordings, have now been combined on one CD:
