One of the real treats in this movie is getting a peek at Bob Beneveds, who plays Seaman Morty -- the poor guy who goes for an evening swim with his girl & they both turn into Kraken food.

This may be Bob's most visible role. Later in life he gave up acting & was the lifelong companion of Raymond Burr ("Perry Mason"), as well as his business partner.

I saw him interviewed not long ago in a feature on Raymond Burr, so I watched for him in this movie -- one of the favorites of my childhood anyhow.

Salud, Bob! Sorry about that giant sea-worm, but I'm glad things got better after that.

The scene where he goes swimming with Jody is obviously located at the Pacific Ocean shore. You can see the waves coming in to shore, plus there aren't any steep rocks next to the Salton Sea.

If his name was in the opening credits I overlooked it, but noticed it when looking over the cast list here tonight. Surprise, surprise!
