I know that this movie's been based on the Richard Matheson's work. Is it good and does it worth buying?

Yeah, the book is really good. I haven't read it in years but it was a magnificent read. The book is actually told in a fashionable flashback with the present taking place with Scott in the basement up until his final battle with the spider. The book was also darker in content to which the film, obviously couldn't explore at the time, so if you're interested in that, I'd say its worth it.

I'm reading it now. I picked up a new hardcover copy from Amazon for less than five bucks.
