I LOVE this movie!

I can't really put my finger on why, but I love this film. As a biography it is inaccurate at best but as a story it's fantastic. I think I love how it touches on so many aspects of human life. Love, failure, talent, depression, disappointment, success, compassion, redemption. Paul and Ann are also physically stunning. Its the kind of movie I can sit curled up on a couch all by myself and watch on a rainy day and cry and feel good when it's over. It is also a complete story. I rarely here people talk about it and as this discussion board shows, apparently not many people have ever seen it. I have a very cherished DVD but I wish TCM would show it once in a while.

It aired yesterday on TCM (August 19, 2014) as part of Paul Newman's tribute for Summer Under the Stars. I like it, too. I think it's because of the chemistry that the stars have, as well as the music. But also because their relationship reminds me of LOVE ME OR LEAVE ME starring Doris Day and James Cagney.

1st time watching it, really like bio-pics. Ann was good especially w/o make-up scene. Tho, most scenes thought the hair & make-up person overdid the 50's, heavy made-up look. Other than that, pretty good & Paul Newman was sexy as usual!
