Was that the same intersection as MAD MAD ........World

Towards the end of the movie they make a left hand turn and go up a hill, there is a sign that says Santa Monica. It looks just like the intersection for Mad MAd.....World which did have a location there.

The plot did stretch things a little but it was a comedy so I just went along for the ride.
I was never a big Jane Russell fan, only having seen her in "Gentlemen prefer Blondes". She is growing on me and does a great job in this movie.
I see that "His kind of Women" is listed for next week, I think I'll check it out.

Have seen scenes of "Gentlemen prefer Blondes" and other of her films, but after just reviewing her list of films, realize this is the first complete movie of her's I have ever seen. (nothing intentional, just seem to have missed them).

Agree the movie was entertaining. Will look for "His Kind of Women" Thanks!

Yes, it is the exact same intersection. It remains there today. It's where Malibu Beach goes up the hill to Santa Monica in the bluffs above. It is also seen in other films, as well.

reply

Huh? Malibu Beach and Santa Monica are 20 miles apart, and both are on the water, not "in the bluffs".

I think the actual intersection is the corner of Pacific Coast Highway and the California Incline in Santa Monica.

Yes, it's the California Incline in Santa Monica, ripped out and rebuilt in recent years so it looks a bit different now.
