Very entertaining and mildly scary for kids

Hey, go easy on FROM HELL IT CAME. I also saw this movie on the family black-and-white television back in the middle 1960s. I was just a 5 to 7 year-old but though the movie was scary-like, I wasn't that scared, but pleasantly spooked. I liked the spooky, vengeful walking tree stalking all those bad, lying Pacific Islanders who caused the innocent, nice Pacific islander young man to get a stake hammered into his chest. See what happens when YOU BEAR FALSE WITNESS AGAINST THY NEIGHBOR! A vengeful revenant, resurrected as a leafy, foliated tree stump comes shambling after you. In your terror you will be frozen to the spot and be unable to run away from the shuffling, leafy horror in your face. See, there's a moral to this story. Don't lie and get innocent people hurt because you will too in the end. All that aside, those of us adults who watched FROM HELL IT CAME when we were kids remember enjoying being scared out of our wits and still like watching it. Heck, I'm even going to buy a DVD-R where ever I can find it.

There's still something to be said for good, old-fashioned horror movies that scare and thrill without the unnecessary, schlocky slasher guts and gore of today's offerings.
