i like this movie its 1 of my fav 1950 horror flicks but i just dont get y its title is Blood of Dracula ... i mean I was a teenage Frankenstein and i was a teenage werewolf was already in the drive ins if i was Herbert L Strock i wouldve just titled it I Was A Teenage Vampire
Maybe he made this one first. "Werewolf" seems to be a remake of "Blood" with only a gender & monster change. We even hear the same song in both films, "Puppy Love", I think.
"We have a powerful enemy somewhere within our planetary system." -Commando Cody
I WAS A TEENAGE WEREWOLF came out first and made a zillion dollars for its parent company, American International Pictures so, to appease the begging theater owners, AIP made a double feature of 2 more teen oriented "classical monsters"...TEENAGE FRANKENSTEIN and BLOOD OF DRACULA (originally titled Blood Is My Heritage) and released them as a double bill.
BLOOD OF DRACULA is basically a transgendered version of the Teenage Werewolf movie. In Hollywood, the saying goes, "If they liked it once, they'll LOVE it twice!"
The song in WEREWOLF was "Eeny-Meeny-Miney-Mo", ....Puppy Love was only in BLOOD OF DRACULA...
Ironically, the guy that wrote both of those quirky non rock tunes was the first male victim in the vampire movie.......that'll teach 'im!!!!
Actually, in the movie they use 'a Dracula' as a synonym for 'a vampire', obviously to cash in on a more common or famous name for 'bloodsucker'. I agree it should have been 'I Was a Teenage Vampire', so the admitted poster on imdb would not have featured Christopher Lee.
Yea they did use dracula as a synonym alot, but i agree, the title is kind of dumb, for instance the blood of a vampire was never part of the movie, the title would probably make better since if she was turned by another vamp or dracula instead of an amulet & a human.
