The raft
I want to know what happened to the people on the raft that picked up Holmes in the first part of the movie. He left the raft to rescue the nurse and they were then picked up by the boat. We never see the raft again.
shareIn real life (remember, this is based on a true story) the "raft" was actually another lifeboat, smaller than the one Holmes was on, but also overloaded and commanded by the captain of the ship. His boat was also rescued the next morning, everyone survived the storm, and no one was tossed over. It was partly the testimony of those on the other boat which helped convict Holmes.
