shareYes it did, right down to the S2 jazz music opening and shot of Lee Marvin getting out and exchanging gunfire, to Marvin's usual opening voiceover narration. Much in the same way that "Airplane" parodied the 50s movie "Zero Hour" without anyone realizing it, most people didn't realize that "Police Squad" was sending up "M Squad" since the latter had been out of circulation for decades.

By the way, in case anyone is wondering, I checked Leslie Nielsen's IMDB listing and I don't see any guest appearance on M Squad there. Too bad.
