TV in Ward's Den
I've always found it strange that their TV set was in Ward's den. I would think most people would have it in the living room.

shareThey never watch TV on TV sit-coms!
shareMaybe they had one in the living room, too. Or is it known that they didn't?
shareFor a time they had a big globe in Ward's Den which was eventually replaced by the TV set.
shareNo one had two TVs in those days. Families watched TV together.
shareIn 1966 we had a color tv in the living room, and my parents had a portable black-and-white tv in their bedroom. And we were definitely not rich.
share1966 is not 1957. The show lasted until 1963, but that's still not 1967.
In 1960, our neighbors (the father was an economics professor at the local university) had to come over to watch something on PBS because they didn't have a TV. By 1967, virtually everyone had a TV, but most folks still didn't have two TVs.
"Rich" is a relative term. In 1967, not everyone had a color TV, let alone two TVs. There was one guy in our neighborhood who had a color TV, and miracle of miracles, it also had a remote! Back then, the kids were the remotes.
Even stranger, it was a color TV.
shareWard watched the news after work before reading the paper and having dinner. There wasn't as much news back then so he had time. June secretly goofed off and watched her stories in there during the day when Ward wasn't around. Wally and the Beav were too busy taking baths and doing homework to bother with TV. When they wanted entertainment they went to the creature feature matinee.
