Karl Swenson would have been a better choice for that role. At the risk of sounding racist, with all that character's talk of "the old ways," it seems like he should have been more "ethnic." Devereaux, the French (Canadian?) psychopath, was the best-realized character in that episode.
My DirecTV DVR has just died for the second time in 14 months, taking with it all of my Richard Boone films, d@mn and blast it to Hades! I'm going to have to get a new one and start all over again. It just recorded THE RAID after nearly a year of waiting for it to come around again!
My favorite bit, after Hal Needham, was the bull shark jaws on the wall of the cabin. Karl Swenson always pleased in every role he played in HGWT. I could see him in that part but wasn't he a little young to play the father?
You could put a moustache on him and salt-and-pepper his hair. Swenson played a fairly old man in the Perry Mason episode "The Case of the Tarnished Trademark" only two years later.
