How Would You Rank the Seasons?

For me, it would be:

2. 2
3. 1
4. 3
5. 5
6. 6

I'm not good at ranking seasons. There's good and bad in each although the writing was fading as the seasons wore on. It's too bad new writers didn't come in to freshen up the episodes in later years. It may have helped.

Some things you just can't ride around...

I will take the episodes by the older writers like Roddenberry and Harry Julian Fink over the episodes by Peggy and Lou Shaw any day. I think "Memories of Monica" by Don Ingalls, the story editor from season 2, is one of the best episodes from season 6. "Bird of Time" wasn't bad either. Honestly, it was episodes from the final three seasons (like the climax of "The Killing of Billy May," "White Death, Slow Death" and "Genesis") that first made me a fan.

Upon reflection, I'd like to re-rank the seasons:

2. 4
3. 1
4. 3
5. 6
6. 5 (almost more about the people Paladin's meeting in his travels than taking jobs and meting out justice, although there are still some outstanding episodes, like "The Revenger")
