Certain 1960's episodes now appear to be banned from distribution?

Once it was announced that the complete 1950's Gumby series was being released on DVD, it seemed promising that the complete 1960's would be released too.

As it turns out, the 1960's has been released across 2 volumes. "Vol. 1" has been out since late February of this year, and "Vol. 2" is set to be released in a couple of weeks.

However, on "Vol. 1", the episodes "Siege of Boonesborough" and "Pokey's Price" were skipped over. And, while "Vol. 2" isn't out yet, the contents of that set have been leaked since you can download the set from iTunes. It looks like the episodes "Gold Rush Gumby", "Indian Country" and "The Indian Challenge" are being skipped over on "Vol. 2".

All 5 of these episodes have one thing in common. They stereotype Native Amerians in typical 1960's fashion. While I understand that the content in these episodes may be offensive, I just don't understand the reasoning of why they had to be left off these DVDs. Yes, the stereotypes are bad, but are they really that bad? There is conetent much worse than this in other shows that even today don't get censored at all.

While all 5 of these episodes were previously released on VHS, the most disappointing thing is not being able to upgrade to the newer restored transfers that would've appeared on these DVDs.

I think I saw those episodes you mentioned on youtube a few years ago. Not sure if they are there now.

And then there still may be unlicensable stock cues on some (those stock cues, from Capitol, themselves originated in Shaindlin]'s Langlois, Philip Green's EMI, and mothers, and a handufl of those were ghostwritten, thus causing maybe some addiitonal problems but they sure were a major TV meme, huh?:)
