(Belated) Happy Birthday, Nancy Gates!

A few days late, but belated birthday greetings to Nancy Gates, the leading lady of World Without End.

Miss Gates turned 91 on February 1. (We share the same birthday, though not the same birth year.)

I hope she's doing well. WWE was my favorite of her films but she's always been an attractive, welcome presence. Too bad she retired after 1960 but family was more important to her than career, so good for her. I also liked her in Suddenly, Some Came Running, Comanche Station (her last, with Randolph Scott), and a number of other films.

So, happy birthday, and many more. Wish we could mark them here on IMDb, but alas, this place is closing in two weeks' times.

PS: For the record, the only other survivor of the film's credited cast is Lisa Montell (real name, Lisa Janti), who is now 83; she'll turn 84 on July 5, 2017. Best wishes to her as well!




